It was another day trip. The destination was Greve in Chianti. It is a small village. It is a quite and peaceful place. We did not have a detail plan this day. In the early morning, we took a bus to this village. What is famous there? I think, should be the wine, grape farm, something like that. We did see a group of Hong Kong people drove there, checked in a little hotel. I think they were having wine tasting event. Anyway, not my business.
The village, is full of small houses. Not much people there. The picture above shows almost the peak hour. Looks like so many people, right? But actually, you could just saw them for a short period.
There is a small square in the center of the village. There is a statue which is a memorable of a general, I think, who ruled the place for some time. But sorry, I did not dig into details on what he had done.
It was still in the morning, we walked nearby the square. There is a shop which sells dried pork meats, like ham and other related herbs and sauce. It is small, but it looks like a small museum. Outside the door, there is a fake wild pig in 1:1 size. And, there is a pig chopping table which was still under repairing. We saw an uncle was polishing it. Inside the shop, there are some information shows a pig with names of different parts. Many pig legs, should be dried already, are hanging under the roof. Very interesting.
There are other shops which sell chicken and other things, and of course, there are several restaurants.
We walked around, bought some souvenirs, sat at a restaurant, ate pasta and drink coke. Rested a little bit and resume our walking. There is a path which is leading to a mountain. Along the path, there are farms and houses. One interesting thing is that there are some tiles with low-relief along the path which is telling the story of Jesus.
We walked till the path ended at a junction to a car road. We were just at the middle of the mountain. We decided not to go any further as there is not much to see. At there, we could have a better look below the mountain.
After that, we walked down back to the village. Hanged around for a little bit longer. Then we decided to take the bus back to Florence. Found a restaurant for dinner and relax. Then backed to rest and charge up ourselves for the coming days visits in Florence.
