Japan Trip 2009 - Day 4 - Part 2

On the way to the bus stop, there is an apple farm. Because it was raining, and not enough time to hang around there, we did not go in. We took a peek from outside, there were so many apple bushes and so many apples hanging on them.We were so hurry to back to the train station, but seems the bus at that time was just gone. Lucky there got a cab, thus we took that cab back to the train station.

Our next visiting site is an archaeological site, Sannai-Maruyama site 三内丸山遺跡. This site is quite a large site which was discovered when a project of establishing baseball court started. The site reveals an ancient culture in Japan. There is a museum and with several ancient huts and also a huge monument. You could never think that such huge construction could be set up at that ancient time. Amazing.

Leaving that historic site, we head to another visiting site. That is the Aomori Museum 青森県立美術館. It is locating just next to the historic site. We walked over there within 15 minutes. The art museum is a place with contemporary art masterpieces. There are sculptures and paintings. To me, just few of them are good though their presentations are well established. The most impressive one is a dog's sculpture. It is huge. The whole arrangement is also interesting. There is a path lead you from inside area to an out door area. There is a human figure that is holding a dog belt in front of a small dog hut. The path then lead to another open area downstairs. There sits a huge dog. Interesting.
Overall, that museum is quite nice and large in scale. You could never find one in Hong Kong. I think there are many art museum in Japan with that scale in different areas. I've never been to those other museum, but this one is just fair. If you did not have much time to hang around in Aomori. You can skip it. But if you are a real art fans. You should visit it.

We left the museum and waited for the bus to take us back to the train station. It was getting dark. We took the same express train back to Hachinohe. Getting off the train, it was time for dinner. We walked into a small restaurant for some local food. The food was so good. Especially the BBQ style food. So nice.
