The bed and breakfast is called Arco Antico, which is quite near the train station. Just a ten minutes walk. As a focal point. It is really convenient for travelling. Bus station is also nearby.
As said before, our first day there is a day without plan. After checked-in our room, we put changed into light bags with cameras. We went wandering around the town nearby and check out the area.
Without purposes, we went to an open area in front of Museo di Santa Maria Novella. It was the first open area that we saw in Italy. The place is peaceful with lots of people sitting over the grass. So relaxing environment. Seeing children running around and playing there was also good for us to kill some time.
We went straight to a place called Piazza della Repubblica. Along the road, we saw some artists painting on the road. It is really a good idea for people to paint on the road. On that road, there are 3 area that are framed with metal lining. It is around 4 square meters. Artists would paint on these areas with pastels, chalk, or other materials that could be washed by water. The interesting part is, these framed areas would be washed everyday. So artists would paint on them everyday but with different artists. They would paint some famous masterpieces. You could easily spot out what they are drawing.
Streets and roads there are crowded. Like walking in Hong Kong. That street is full of branded shops. You could spend out all your money there if you are shoppingholics. To me, it is just a street with artistic environment. No problem at all.
We hanged around till night. We found a nice restaurant and enjoyed our dinner. Then headed back to our accommodation place for rest and expecting for the trip next day.
